What do you get when you cross Dante’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy, with the gameplay of the God of War series; you get EA’s upcoming title, Dante’s Inferno.

Based off the epic poem, Dante must travel through the nine circles of hell to retrieve his love Beatrice from the clutches of Satan himself.

Xbox 360 users witnessed  a Thanksgiving miracle today as Valve updated their Left 4 Dead 2 network infrastructure for Xbox Live. The developer promises “lag-free” servers for 360 users.

I’ve been waiting for this news ever since the launch of L4D2. The game is hard enough as it is without debilitating lag, and I can’t wait to get back to the silky-smooth zombie goodness.

"Dude, shes totally checking you out, just go talk to her!"

Bayonetta is a new third person action game brought to you guys from Sega. One plays as a witch, with guns on the heels of her stilettos as she kills waves after waves of angels to reap their halo’s. The game isn’t slated to release until next year, but guess who got early access to play the demo from Sega?

Yours truly.

Well, it looks like science has won. Adam is real, and we are all going to kill each other over it.

Starting next January or so, you too can weild the power of plasmids! Thanks to this Eve Hypo!

These will cost you about $23 and will be available from play.com next year. You know you want one.

RAPTURE REMINDER: Liquid cannot be injected, the syringe is not meant to be injected, and the liquid receives its signature blue taint via LED lights.

In the latest trailer for Left 4 Dead 2, the game promises “More zombies, more friends, better apocalypse.”

The L4D2 demo was released for Xbox LIVE Gold members yesterday and co-editor David Sydionco and our friend Bryan McClaren and I were able to play together. Does the game re-ignite the signature sense of murderous camaraderie the first brought about? Or is there reason to post angry threads on Valve’s message board demanding the game for free?

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer footage released, drooling ensues September 1, 2009

Earlier today, Robert Bowling, also known as fourzerotwo on the Twitters, posted a link to some new Modern Warfare 2 footage on Youtube.

The clip, which showcases a new capture-the-flag gametype as well as a slew of new weapons, looks wild, chaotic, and pretty as hell. Well, as pretty as war can be, at least. There are also throwing knives. As in knives that you can throw. You know the knife from the original Modern Warfare? Well this knife is like that one, except it can be used as a deadly projectile. Did we mention throwing knives?

Anyway, check out the full video after the break.

LostPlanet2_psd_jpgcopyToday, Capcom announced that Xbox LIVE subscribers will be able to sample the sweet, sweet taste of giant salamander meat in the Lost Planet 2 co-op demo, set to release next Wednesday.

Xbox LIVE Gold members will be able to download the demo on the 19th, while Silver subscribers will have to wait another whole week to hop in on the multiplayer goodness.

The demo is the same one showcased at this year’s E3 and Comic-con, and features a whole slew of weapons and mech suits for up to 4 players to stomp around in. It focuses on an epic battle with an enormous salamander, in which players can slice of limbs or even be swallowed whole, Pinocchio-style.

The final release date for Lost Planet 2 is yet to be announced.

Have you finished Point Lookout yet? Well, you’d better get on it, because Fallout 3‘s latest downloadable adventure, Mothership Zeta is almost here.

The DLC is supposedly the last in the series of 5, and we’re sad to see it go. But don’t worry, there’s still a lot more alien-blasting and anal probing to go around.

If the new trailer is anything to go on, Mothership Zeta promises a bunch of  new weapons – including a freeze ray, which, in my opinion, is of the highest quality of rays.

So, for my first foray into the wild world of adventure gaming, I stuck with the classics: The Secret of Monkey Island. Or, more specifically, the new special edition re-release for the Xbox 360 and PC.

With the game’s new HD support and shiny graphics, I figured it would make for a smoother transition from the modern tradition of gritty realism and bloom.

See what I thought of the game so far after the break.

Fight people wearing metal suits!

Capcom’s fan favorite, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, is finally making its way onto Xbox LIVE Arcade today, and can be purchased for a pithy 1200 Microsoft Points (about 15 dollars in real-world money.)

The game, which had been going for well over $100 on systems like the Dreamcast, will be available for download and online play.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 pits 56 characters from both Marvel and Capcom universes  like Iron Man, Captain America, Ryu from Street Fighter and Jill Valentine from Resident Evil,  against one another in mortal combat (but not kombat).

Check it out today for Xbox Live, and for the PS3 owners out there, the game should be hitting PSN for $14.99 on August 13.
